Festival Of the Trails

On Saturday September 10, 2022, Raytown Main Street Association will be supporting Raytown’s 2nd Annual Festival of the Trails. This is a free event that will include numerous activities by various Raytown businesses with fun for the entire family. Food, beverages and retail items will be available for sale throughout the day. Donations will also be accepted at some locations. See the flyer (below) for more information.

RMSA Annual Workshop

On July 21, 2022, members of Raytown Main Street Association held their annual workshop meeting at the Raytown Chamber of Commerce. The purpose of the workshop was to create input for committee Annual Work Plans and a Transformation Plan.

A brainstorming session was held to identify goals for input into these documents. This will provide a roadmap for this year’s activities and also satisfy many of the requirements to be an Affiliate Member in good standing with Missouri Main Street Association. RMSA was designated an Affiliate member with the Missouri Main Street Connection on  July 19, 2022.

September Raytown Live News

On September 10 at 6PM in conjunction with Raytown’s Festival of the Trails and Raytown Live, Raytown Main Street Association will be serving food at the Nick Schnebelen concert. This is a family event and fun for all ages. Located at the Town Center Greenspace in downtown Raytown.  Your favorite grilled items will be available as well as chips and drinks. Bring your lawn chairs, a picnic blanket, bug spray, a beach ball, your family and friends. Come out and enjoy some incredible music and food.

Summer Lunch Support

On June 15, 2022, Raytown Main Street Association donated to the Raytown Summer Lunch Ministry.  Pictured are Carol Frevert manager of the program, Tom Moore from RMSA, Mary Oyler assistant manager of the program and Wayne Oyler. Members of RMSA will also be volunteering through August 16 when the program ends.

The Ministry anticipates providing 150 bags of groceries each week to families with children in the Raytown School District. This is the 15th year the ministry has offered the program in partnership with Raytown Christian Church. They are funded completely by donations and grants. Rice-Tremonti House Clean Up

On May 15, 2022, members of the Raytown Main Street Association assisted with the planting and cleanup of the gardens at the Rice-Tremonti House. The Rice-Tremonti House in Raytown, Missouri is a building from 1844 listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. The site was a popular stop for travelers along the Santa Fe trail in the mid to late 1800’s. The “spruce up” event attracted several Friends of Rice-Tremonti for the purpose of getting the house ready for this years Festival of the Trails Saturday, September 10, 2022. The event was headed up by Ms. Carla Andrews Coldwell of CTC Cakes.
